Vermont State Police say a multi-vehicle accident occurred on January 18, 2026, at approximately 7:39 PM along Waterbury Stowe Road in Waterbury. The crash involved four vehicles and resulted in one driver being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to police reports, 54-year-old Dylan Lee Gamache of Lebanon, NH, was traveling south when he crossed the center line, leading to the collision. While speaking with officers, Gamache exhibited signs of impairment. He was taken into custody and later transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing. No injuries were reported for Gamache, whose 2011 Audi A4 was deemed totaled. Minor injuries were reported for two other drivers, including 61-year-old Hugh Ickrath from Manassas, VA, and 44-year-old Santiago Debrigard from Miramar, FL, who were both taken to Central Vermont Medical Center.

Gamache has been charged with DUI and is scheduled to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division on February 5, 2026, at 8:30 AM. Court dates and charges may change as the case progresses, according to the report.
