Vermont State Police say a two-vehicle collision on January 1st in Dummerston led to the arrest of a 43-year-old woman suspected of driving under the influence. The incident occurred around 5:07 PM at the intersection of Vermont Route 30 and Sugar House Road, where one vehicle reportedly fled the scene.
According to police reports, troopers conducted an investigation and identified Bridget Wright-Covey of Williamsville as the driver of the abandoned vehicle. During their interaction with her, officers noted signs of impairment, resulting in her arrest on charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Wright-Covey is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on March 31, 2026, at 8:30 AM. It is important to note that the charges are allegations, and court dates, as well as charges, may change as the case progresses.
