Vermont State Police say a 68-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence on December 26, 2025, on I-89 Northbound in South Burlington. The incident occurred around 5:20 PM when a trooper observed a vehicle drifting off the roadway and nearly hitting a guardrail.
According to police reports, the trooper initiated a traffic stop after witnessing the moving violation. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Anthony J. Curtis of Milton, multiple signs of impairment were detected. Following a roadside investigation, Curtis was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was taken to the Williston Barracks for processing and was later released into the custody of a sober adult.
Curtis has been charged with DUI #1 and is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on January 15, 2026, at 8:30 AM.
