Vermont State Police say a 72-year-old man from Montpelier was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence on December 24, 2025. The arrest occurred at the intersection of US Route 2 and Lovers Lane while troopers were investigating an unrelated single-vehicle crash.
According to police, John Hudson displayed signs of impairment upon arriving at the scene of the crash. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing and subsequently released with a citation for DUI.
Hudson is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court’s Criminal Division on January 8, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. The charges he faces are allegations, and the court date is subject to change.
