According to police reports, a traffic stop on Interstate 89 North near mile marker 99.6 in Vermont early on December 23, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 58-year-old Colchester resident, Mark Long. Vermont State Police say they responded to a report of a broken-down vehicle and discovered that Long was allegedly driving under the influence of drugs.

Following the investigation, Long was processed and received a citation. He is scheduled to appear in Chittenden Criminal Court on February 3, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. The charges against him remain allegations at this stage, and legal proceedings will continue as the case develops.
