Vermont State Police say a traffic stop in Waterville early on December 24, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old local resident, Hunter Tallman, who is suspected of driving under the influence. Authorities were initially alerted by the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department about a hit-and-run incident involving a Chevrolet pickup truck, believed to be driven by an intoxicated individual.
According to police reports, troopers observed Tallman’s vehicle performing donuts at the intersection of Vermont Route 109 and Hogback Road. A traffic stop was initiated, revealing that Tallman was operating with a criminally suspended license. During the encounter, officers noted signs of impairment, leading to Tallman’s arrest on suspicion of DUI. Police also discovered that he violated conditions of his release, which prohibited him from operating a vehicle with alcohol in his system.
Tallman was processed at the Morristown Police Department and released with a citation. He is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on January 7, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. to face charges of DUI refusal, violation of conditions of release, and criminal driving with a suspended license.
