According to police reports, a 32-year-old woman from Cambridge, New York, was arrested for driving under the influence following a crash on Vermont Route 67 West in Shaftsbury. The incident occurred on December 20, 2025, around 10:48 a.m., when Lauren M. Ploof lost control of her 2020 Honda Civic and collided with a telephone pole.

Police say that upon their arrival, officers noted several signs of impairment while speaking with Ploof. She was subsequently taken into custody without incident and brought to the Shaftsbury Barracks for processing. Ploof faces charges of DUI-Drugs and was issued a citation to appear in court.
