According to police reports, a shooting early Friday morning in Fairfax has led to the arrest of a 44-year-old local man, Timothy Bickings Jr. Vermont State Police say Bickings has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated domestic assault, and reckless endangerment following the incident that occurred around 1:20 a.m. at an apartment building on Fletcher Road.
Police reports indicate that two victims, a man and a woman, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were initially treated at Northwestern Medical Center before being transferred to the University of Vermont Medical Center for further care. The shooting appears to be linked to a domestic situation among individuals who knew each other, according to police.
Bickings was apprehended later that afternoon and is currently being held without bail at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans Town. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Albans at 1 p.m. on December 22. As the case progresses, the charges remain allegations, and details may change. An affidavit of probable cause will be made public following the arraignment.
