According to police reports, an early morning burglary on December 14, 2025, at the Highgate Irving in Highgate has led to an ongoing investigation. Vermont State Police say they responded to an alarm at approximately 2:52 a.m., where they found the glass entrance door shattered upon the arrival of a keyholder.

Surveillance footage reveals two individuals on a four-wheeler entering the store by breaking the main door’s glass. After the incident, the suspects fled south on Decatur Street, taking approximately 15 cartons of cigarettes from the store. Police are seeking assistance from the public and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact the St. Albans Barracks at 802-524-5993.

The investigation remains active, and no charges have been filed as of yet. According to the report, the legal proceedings may evolve as more information surfaces.
