On December 11, 2025, in Fairlee, police say a 2018 Hyundai Elantra crashed into the median on Interstate 91, with speed and slick conditions as factors.

Vermont State Police say a vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 91 North in Fairlee on December 11, 2025, at around 7:26 a.m. A 53-year-old man from West Lebanon, New Hampshire, driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, lost control of his car, leading it to exit the roadway and collide with the median.

According to police reports, the vehicle sustained extensive damage, resulting in it being totaled. The driver, identified as Jeong Yang, and a passenger, 32-year-old Byeol Kim, both sustained no injuries. Another passenger, 28-year-old Sydney Shohan from Newport News, Virginia, reported a possible injury but was not transported to a hospital. Authorities noted that speed and slick road conditions, which included partial snow cover, contributed to the incident. The Fairlee Police Department assisted at the scene.

Legal proceedings related to this crash are ongoing, with the investigation still in its early stages. Charges may be filed as more information becomes available, and the legal status of those involved could change as the case progresses.
