According to police reports, a 55-year-old Swanton resident, Jami Lapan, was arrested on December 10, 2025, for violating an abuse prevention order at 127 Hog Island Road. Vermont State Police say they were alerted to the incident shortly after noon and determined that Lapan had breached a court-imposed restriction.

Following the investigation, Lapan was taken into custody and held on a $200 bail at the Northwestern State Correctional Facility. The police report indicates that Robyn Lapan, a 54-year-old resident of Swanton, is identified as the victim in this case.
