Vermont State Police say a 20-year-old man from Lowell, Massachusetts, is facing multiple charges after an incident at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility on December 9. According to police reports, Xavier Horne was being escorted by correctional officers when he allegedly became disorderly and intentionally spat on two officers, Paul Trucott, 56, of Sheffield, and Ethan Masure, 35, of Waterford.
As a result of the incident, Horne has been charged with two counts of assault on a correctional officer and one count of assault with bodily fluids. He was cited into Caledonia County Court, with his arraignment scheduled for January 5, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
