According to police reports, a 60-year-old resident of Middlebury, Leonard Kenyon, was arrested following a reported incident of simple assault in New Haven, Vermont, on December 9, 2025. The Vermont State Police responded to the scene around 8:13 PM, where they determined that Kenyon had attempted to inflict bodily harm on another individual.

During the investigation, police say Kenyon provided false and misleading information about the incident. He was subsequently taken to the New Haven Barracks for processing. Following this, he was released with a criminal citation.

Kenyon has been charged with simple assault and making false information to a police officer. He is scheduled to appear at the Addison County Superior Court on February 23, 2026, at 12:30 PM to address these allegations.
