Vermont State Police say a physical altercation at a residence on Vermont Route 113 in Vershire early Sunday morning led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man. Joshua Demars, a resident of Royalton, is accused of simple assault and aggravated disorderly conduct following the incident, which occurred at approximately 1:57 a.m.
According to police reports, officers from the St. Johnsbury barracks responded to the scene after receiving reports of the fight. Upon investigation, they determined there was probable cause to charge Demars with the aforementioned offenses. He was arrested and taken to the St. Johnsbury station for processing.
Demars has been cited to appear in Orange Superior Court’s criminal division on December 31, 2025.
